We specialize in machining forged components from special alloys

Materials for every need

Lomec specializes in the machining of components made from materials specific to the aerospace industry such as:

Titanium
(Ti6AL4V/Ti6A...)

Titanium is a metallic element with extraordinary corrosion resistance and a high strength-to-weight ratio. Due to its high mechanical strength, light weight and ability to withstand extreme temperatures, it is a widely used material in aerospace.

Waspaloy (AMS 5708, 2.4654 / UNS N07001)

Waspaloy is a registered trademark of United Technologies Corp and refers to the family of nickel-based austenitic structure superalloys with extraordinary high temperature resistance (up to 650°C), resistance to oxidation and other forms of corrosion at high temperatures (Up to 870°C). It is used for rotating and stationary components in the aerospace industry as well as in industrial gas turbines.

Inconel (625, 718 ...)

Inconel is a registered trademark of the U.S.-based Special Metals Corporation and refers to the family of austenitic nickel-chromium superalloys. Inconel 718, a variant of 625 characterized by greater hardness, is an ideal material for use in extreme environments, i.e., applications characterized by high temperatures. The material's properties make it perfect for uses in aerospace and heavy industry, such as the manufacture of turbine and jet engine components.

Duplex

Biphasic austenitic-ferritic stainless steels, also known as duplex stainless steels, are ferrous stainless alloys that have a structure termed hybrid, as two different crystal structures coexist: austenite and ferrite.
The good mechanical properties, which allow the fabrication of lighter structures, and the high corrosion resistance/cost ratio, linked to the low nickel contents present, make this class of steels particularly attractive as substitutes for the classic stainless steel families.

alloy
(ALLOY 625, 725...)

THE ALLOY XXX family includes age-hardening alloys based on nickel, chromium, molybdenum and niobium.
The addition of aluminum and titanium gives the alloy high strength, ductility and hardness. They also show high corrosion resistance, including resistance to hydrogen embrittlement and stress corrosion cracking

High alloy steels, exotic alloys

We are also able to process alloys referred to as "exotics," which are not routinely demanded in the industrial market, but which require specific attention during processing.

Special processing

In addition, we are able to perform special machining of components with anti-wear and anti-corrosion functions such as machining of components with welding coatings (CLADDING) which provide corrosion protection for steel pipes and valves used in special applications.

We also work on components with anti-wear and/or anti-corrosion functions with coatings with Chromium Oxide, Aluminum Oxide (Alumina), Zirconium Oxide (Zirconia), Cermet Carbide Tungsten-Cobalt WC-Co-(Cr), etc.
